Art Barn Fundraising

Oct 11

Sarah C built on her parents’ exceptional legacy. The Canning’s ethos, vision and leadership has enabled generations of Hanford girls to benefit from this truly enlightened education. Furthermore, Sarah C’s generosity throughout her lifetime enabled the school to weather the occasional financial storm. In 2004, in an act of extraordinary generosity, she transferred the school, house and stables to a charitable trust. Following her death in 2018,  she bequeathed further properties and a substantial sum to the school – enabling us to begin work on protecting and investing in the fabric of the school.

One of the exciting new building projects going on at Hanford is the transformation of the old cart lodges / workshop into the new creative hub called The Art Barn. Art, Pottery, Handwork and the costume cupboard will all be housed together under one roof.

So far, we have run a couple of successful Art Barn Fundraising events – Art Appre Live and the Art For The Art Barn Auction which have raised over £85,000. A further £100,000 is needed to complete the building. If you would like make a contribution towards this project please visit the donate or follow us on Instagram to see our latest Fundraising plans.  Alternatively if you would like to discuss your donation in person please call the Alumnae Team – Honor Johnston or Catty Lowsley-Williams on 01258 860 219 or email them at alumnae@hanfordschool.co.uk

Thank you for your support.
