Celebrating Excellence : Drama Scholars
Four of our Hanford girls went for Drama scholarships at their senior schools. Eva, Lucy, Ellie and Talulla all worked incredibly hard to prepare for their scholarships. They each chose a different monologue to perform by heart and learnt various performance techniques. Their preparation did however, start long before this year. In the Vth form play and annual Bonfire Night skits our drama scholars showed their fabulous comedic timing. In the Nativity, our scholars were cast in main parts in their final year, with Eva playing ‘Mary’, they learnt their lines quickly and performed brilliantly.
The Parents’ Day play last year was Mathilda. Ellie, Eva and Talulla played ‘Mathildas’ and Lucy was ‘Miss Honey’. Each of them balanced the comedy and drama of their roles whilst singing beautifully during the musical numbers.
They should be incredibly proud of their performance at scholarship level and Hanford is sure they will continue to show their talent in future productions at Hanford and beyond.
