‘Girls on Track’ STEM Event at Monkton Combe

Oct 18

On Friday, 10 Hanford Girls spent the day at Monkton Combe for their STEM event, ‘Girls on Track.’ There was a Formula 1 car parked at the front of the school and the girls performed a Pit Stop wheel changing challenge. Next they headed to the classroom to build and race Lego bots. Outside, the girls then raced remote-control cars on a mini assault course, followed by an opportunity to practice interviewing one another in front of a camera. They then took part in a game that tested their reaction times.┬áThe girls then headed ‘trackside’ for a course in resuscitation with the Silverstone course doctor.

The entire day was a great chance for the girls to get involved in exciting activities while fostering their interest in STEM.
