NSEA National Championships at Keysoe International 22-25th October 2021
Over the first weekend of half term six Hanford girls and their ponies travelled up to the NSEA National Championships at Keysoe International in Bedfordshire where only qualified teams and individuals can compete against schools from all over the country.
The girls took part in jumping classes ranging from 75cm up to 95cm. They all jumped super rounds in each class. Kitty jumping individually in a very competitive 75cm show jumping class riding her socks off for a very speedy clear round followed by just 1 pole down in the show jumping phase of her Jump with Style round. We then had a team jumping the 85cm show jumping class in the big indoor arena with crowds at every angle. Elsa, Charlotte and Kitty took on the technical track, riding beautiful rounds with some finding the atmosphere harder than others. All girls supported and encouraged one another and praised their ponies after each round throughout the weekend.
On Monday we went forward for the 95cm show jumping and Jump with Style with Darcie, Elsa and Poppy riding their hearts out for three fantastic rounds to put the team into 10th place out of 41 teams in the Show jumping. This is an incredible achievement for our girls riding against competitors aged up to 19 years old. Although just outside of the placings a huge well done to our riders Darcie N, Kitty N, Elsa W, Poppy J, Charlotte B and Thalia M. As a school we could not have been prouder of these six hardworking girls and their amazing ponies – what an achievement to not only qualify but to compete at such a big event.
Congratulations to all who made the weekend such an enjoyable and successful experience.
