Hockey v Bryanston Knighton House
An U11 and U10 Hockey team travelled to Bryanston Knighton House for some coached hockey games. The U11 team played first and gained in confidence as the game progressed. Rachel played solidly in defence and Clemmie and Aline worked well through the midfield.
All of the IVth Form made up the U10 group and they subbed on and off during the 4 quarters changing positions readily each time. For most of the girls, this was their first hockey match experience.
Both teams lost 0:2 but thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!

Wednesday 22nd September

Hockey v Sunninghill
The U12A and B teams travelled to Sunninghill to play hockey on their mini astro. The A team played first and this was a very evenly matched game where both teams had shots on goal and some short corners. Hanford scored in the second half and won the match 1:0. Cecily played well in the midfield and Elsa defended solidly.
The U12B team were a bit cautious at the start of the game but the girls soon found their rhythm and played some good hockey. Neither team managed to find the net and the game finished as a no score draw.

Wednesday 29th September

Lacrosse v Godolphin
The U13 A and B netball teams a group of Vth Form lacrosse players travelled to Godolphin for matches and a coached lacrosse session. The Vth form and Miss Mcmillan really enjoyed the lacrosse and had a lot of fun mixing with the Godolphin girls.
The netball games were very closely fought and quite competitive with lots of goals scored by both teams.
The A team lost 7-8 and Eliza was awarded player of the match and the B team lost 3-4.

Saturday 9th October

Hockey v Clayesmore
The U13A and B teams played hockey at Clayesmore on a very hot afternoon. The game was played in quarters so that both teams could us all of their sub players. Both matches were very even but the Hanford A team scored a goal in the 3nd quarter to lead the game 1:0. The standard of play was superb with both teams showing width, pace and skill on the ball. Hanford kept the pressure on and were awarded numerous short corners in the final quarter but couldn’t score again. However they did keep Clayesmore out of their attacking circle and the match ended with a 1:0 victory for Hanford.
The U13B team went a goal down in the 2nd quarter but some positive drives through the midfield opened up an opportunity in the last quarter enabling Darcie to score the equaliser. Draw 1:1
The U11A and B teams played at home on the grass pitch. They were certainly more confident having already played a match earlier in the term and used the width of the pitch well. The A team lost 0:2 and the B team won 2:0!
The matches were followed by team teas in the marquee – enjoy by both players and parents.
