Jan 23

On a very wet Saturday afternoon the U13 and U12 netball teams hosted Port Regis. The matches started promptly and were mostly played in a light drizzle and both teams played some excellent netball considering the conditions. Despite some quick movement of the ball in the U13 game,Hanford just could not convert the shots and led the first quarter 3-2. The teams were neck and neck throughout and went in to the last quarter at 8-8. Hanford managed to make the most of their possession and turned over any loose balls and managed to gain a couple of goals advantage before the whistle finished the game. 12-9. Lily M-G was awarded the players defending P.O.M and Katya as the attack.

The U12’s game was also a very tight game and despite using their speed around the court, the passing was not as effective as it should be and the girls went in to the last quarter a goal down. However, they kept their heads and finished off with some consistent shooting to finish the game 14-12. P.O.M awards were giving to Octavia in defence and India in the attack.

After all the rain the weather cleared and the U10 netball team had a really close match against Port Regis. Play was vey even up and down the court with both teams taking it in turns to take the lead.Excellent attacking and accurate shooting by the players and some ferocious defending at the other end of the court. The final score was 8-8, a fair result.
