UVIth Trip to the Isle of Wight
The UVIth had a wonderful time on their trip this year to the Isle of Wight. After a chilly ferry ride over to the Island, the girls kicked off their trip in true Hanford style; by braving the March weather and going for a swim in the sea! Over the course of the next few days the girls took part in some fun, challenging and at times hilarious activities.
The Giant Swing was great fun- the girls could choose how high they wished to go (up to 10m) before being swung down and then up into the air! On the Sensory Trail everyone was blindfolded and so each girl had to rely on the person in front to lead them through the obstacle course. There were a lot of muddy puddles to wade through before they reached the finish line!
In the Vertical Challenge, the UVIth took part in a traditional obstacle course with a twist- the course was vertical! Secured to a safety rope, they worked their way through tyres and up rope ladders all the way to the top. In their final activity, the girls put their problem solving skills to the test in a series of group tasks.
The UVIth greatly enjoyed their days away and many thanks to the members of staff who organised and accompanied the trip.
