The Upper VIth went to the Chateau de la Baudoniere. The Chateau is a great place where none of the instructors or the staff speak English. The Chateau also has a wide variety of animals, such as rabbits, poneys, pigs The girls were amazing at picking up instructions in French and at using their French to reply. They did many activities such as canoe, aeroball, and archery. They also made their own bread and ate it for lunch. They visited Mont Saint Michel and the town of Saint Malo. They also went to a French supermarket. The girls enjoyed walking around the walls of Saint Malo and doing a bit of shopping and also visiting Mont Saint Michel and its streets that inspired JK Rowling in Harry Potter. On the way back to Caen for our ferry, we stopped at la Cite de la Mer, where the girls discovered the Titanic exhibition and the aquarium. The girls were a really credit to the school and felt their French hugely improved.
