Wise Words – Poetry Competition Winner

Congratulations to our UVIth girl Alex whose poem and poetry performance was selected by Dame Judi Dench and local poet David Caddy as the overall Senior Section winner in a local poetry competition run in aid of Bere Marsh Farm who work to save endangered Barn Owls.
A big thank you to Knighton House School for organising a the ‘Icons in the Landscape’ poetry competition together with Countryside Restoration Trust and Bere Marsh Farm. Bere Marsh Farm was acquired by the Countryside Restoration Trust and their patron is Dame Judi. The competition, which had a junior section for youngsters aged 7-11 and a senior category open to those aged between 12-14. They were required to write, perform and record a poem inspired by the term, Icons in the Landscape. 
Congratulations to all the children who took part and especially to the Junior section winner Keziah R, Year 6 from Knighton House School and runner up May D, Year 6 also from Knighton House School. Also well done Romily B, Year 7 from The Blandford School who was runner up in the Senior Section.
